Our Range of waterfed pole (WFP) systems from Brodex, Facelift and Unger allow you to clean more windows faster increasing your profits and without the hassle of ladders and platforms for high areas.
A typical system will consist of a pole connected to a
pump and
resin or
reverse osmosis system which will filter the incoming water from tanks or a tap. Filtering the water removes impurities in ‘hard’ water meaning no residue is left on windows and no
cleaning solutions are required.
CHOOSING WATERFED POLES
When you go waterfed your pole in the main tool to clean windows. It's really important to know what you're going to be using it for. For domestic and low level work you can use fibre glass poles as there won't be any problems with rigidity. As you move onto higher or commercial work a more rigid pole would be recommended to reduce flexibility along the shaft.
This is really important to remember as if your pole bennds too much it can create back problems and slow down your cleaning - not to mention making the pole hard to control.
It can be recommended to buy a selection of poles for working at different heights as a larger pole used at its shortest length will be heavier than required and slow you down.
WATER TREATMENT
It's vitally important to you waterfed pole business that you have pure water so that no mineral streaks appear on your 'cleaned' windows.
Water can be treated by means of resin-based DI systems which use a chemical method to replace the mineral salts in the water with ions from the resin which won't leave marks on windows. This process only works as long as there are enough ions in the resin, after this the resin must be replaced or regenerated.
reverse Osmosis is an alternative physical method which involved pushing water through a membrane by pressure. This membrane is only large enough to let the water molecules through and not the dissolved minerals.
Reverse osmosis does not give quite as pure water as DI, but the results are sufficient in most water areas. It can be supplemented by DI in very hard water areas to allow optimum cleaning.
